Jaydon Stevens is not your average teenage boy. He’s been abandoned by two of the people that he loved the most in this world. He’s one of six children and he lives with his four younger siblings and his abusive father. Every morning he dresses his five year old sister whom he has raised from the time she was six months old. His father, don’t get him started, he’s an alcoholic low life who spends his days drinking and beating Jaydon. But only Jay. He never touches the others and Jay is determined to keep it that way. He makes it his mission to be his father’s punching bag so the others won’t feel his father’s wrath. He goes through life hiding the bruises, pretending to be a klutz…But what happens when one boy doesn’t believe him…? He has a long list of rules that he follows in order to survive his father. His rules may just apply to protecting his heart as well.
Jayson Stevens has many reasons to hate his son, most of which are complete bull. The newest reason however is that Jaydon is gay. Jaydon endures it all for his family, who mean the world to him, with the hope that one day he will pull back his fist and throw the last punch without having to worry that his siblings will become his father’s new targets.

[BXB / unedited ] Saying that Max Oran is a disaster would be an understatement: he got himself kicked out of school, his dad has sent him to live with his emotionally distant mother and his friends don't want anything to do with him. When Max starts at his new school, he meets Cole Benson and his turbulent but loyal friends. As Max develops new bonds and begins to fall for Cole, he realizes that, despite everything, he might have stumbled into something beautiful. Eager to embrace the second chance that life has given him, Max begins counseling and, with the help of Cole and his newfound friends, tries to move forward. However, he quickly realizes that there are more bumps ahead than he was prepared for and is forced to decide if he's going to push past his problems or let his mistakes hold him back forever.
