It is the 5th century. The Huns and other barbarian hordes threaten the Roman Empire, which is now split into two halves and is on its last legs. Christianity is gaining strength. Attila the Hun has conquered most of the world and now desires to conquer Rome. Only the last great Roman general, Aetius, stands in his way, but Aetius is distrusted by a weak and fearful Emperor. The Pope must balance a failing Empire, pagan barbarians out to destroy Christianity and splits within his Church. Based on Edward Gibbon's "Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire," Conquer & Die tells the true story how these three men battled each other for the legacy and supremacy of the Empire, but ultimately failed because of deceit, betrayal and treachery. The end of their struggle marked the death of the 2,000 year old Roman Empire and the beginning of the Dark Ages.
