An idea I had where a guy is roommates with a werewolf, but rather than just being a destructive werewolf that doesn't remember things after they change back, he's self aware and he just has dog-like tendencies.

I pulled out my speech device and began typing...I looked up for a split second just to see a fist plummeting towards me and everything became fuzzy. I could hear screams but could not make out what was being said. I smelt something calming, like the smell of rain and vanilla and suddenly, a guy came in charging at Gabriel. Gabriel didn't have any time to react as he was knocked to the ground.
