It's been a thousand years since the Demonio Wars cracked the fabric of reality and unleashed Hell on Earth. Literally. 24-year-old Aramaya doesn't remember a time when humans were free to roam without fear and she's never once set foot outside the fortified walls of Sanctuary City ... That is, until a silly rite of passage ends up with her on the wrong side of the wall when the warning horns blow. She survives her encounter with a razor-mouthed behemoth, but her little brother Kor disappears and everyone blames Aramaya for his loss. When she can no longer listen to her father cry or her mother scream invectives at her, she slips out of the city to find her brother or die trying.

The world outside the walls is no place for a human, and Aramaya no fighter. In her pursuit of the demons who carried away her brother, she trespasses on the lands belonging to one of the nine princes of Hell. Lord Belial himself rides her down and carries her off to his stronghold where she's sure he will torture and kill her--but the prince of Hell is not the monster her people have made him out to be. Aramaya struggles to remember her true purpose for venturing beyond the walls when her feelings for Belial turn from fear to passion.

Individual threads slowly snapped as he lifted his claw, taking the strap with him. "What are you doing?" She asked, her small frame trembling against his much larger body, which satisfied a deep-rooted desire within him. "Do you always wear such provocative clothing?" He muttered in husky annoyance. ~•~•~ Irina is the first human born in the underworld- an utter mystery. Nineteen year old Anna Preston appears to lead a life typical for a young woman in modern-day America. But she has a secret. For the past three years she's been seeing shadowy figures mingling with the populace. Made of smoke and vapor with a vaguely human form, they are not overtly threatening, but in the recesses of her mind there are whispers of nightmares long buried and forgotten. Jared is of a race created solely for the purpose of protecting humankind from demons, and for the first two centuries of life he was fully devoted to the service. Until the very ones he protected repaid him by destroying everything he ever loved. For decades Jared's hatred of humans was a living thing, but time has a way of dulling strong emotion and centuries later he is mostly indifferent. But when he learns a vial of his blood is being used in depraved activities, a long forgotten past comes hurdling back. ** Humans, Vampires, Faerians, and Shifters once banded together to fight their common enemy, but it has been many centuries since the demons presented a real threat to the world- and in these modern times most are oblivious to the danger lurking just beyond their perception and mankind has reduced both allies and enemies to fairy tales and boogie men. Signs are beginning to appear that allude to this threat rising in power once more, but with the alliances largely broken and those still continuing the fight few and far between, the human race is on the precipice of a grave danger that could threaten their very existence. And so it is of dire need for the allies to gather together once more. Ancient prophesies will soon begin to surface, one in particular that speaks of a unifying force initiated by the unlikeliest of beings...
