Your never truly aware of the world around you. You think with time things will get better... well I'm living proof that nothing ever gets better. You live with the demons you create and piece by piece they tear you apart. This is the story of a girl who didn't let her demons destroy her.
This story starts with 18 year old Rebecca Carter who's past mistakes haunt her everyday. She lives in a constant state of fear never knowing when they could attack. As she fights her battles with Jason she struggles to hold on to herself. She's so determined not to be consumed by darkness that she doesn't even realize she's already too far gone. Nonetheless she will continue to fight not for her but for those who are important to her.
This story isn't about her fight with Jason or the battle between good and evil, no this story is about her battle with herself to maintain the part of her that is human that has emotions she wants nothing but to keep that part of her safe and she'll do anything to do it.

People like Kai Gilling have flocked to the desert (once known as the American West) in hopes of finding a better life. After picking up a pair of siblings, the three come across a strange woman who claims to have a map to Arcadia, an urban legend rumored to be the only city thriving in the wreckage of the old world. Will they keep their hearts set on an oasis in the desert--even if it's just a mirage? Or will they be tempted by something else
