'Listen, Bean.' First time he's used that name. I thought it was sweet. 'You've struggled through way too much. You've done the unimaginable. You've survived something many wouldn't have. At such a young age. You've made it through something no one should ever endure. But, you did it! And now, I'm here. And I'm going to protect you like you were my own fucking sister, or even daughter!' He looks straight into my eyes, and it's a shock to see a tear fall down his soft cheek. He's crying for me...
