Women were bad luck on ships, everyone knew this. That's why women were never allowed to sail overseas, unless they really paid for it. This is why the stowaways were cast overboard, with their legs bound and weighted with some heavy object.
However the ocean objected to the mistreatment of her children, and took them in. She bound their legs anew with kindness and love, so they could live forever in the eternal race, now infamously known as mermaids. These now took their anger out, their wrath unmatched, and made the men feel what they felt in the last few moment they took their breath.
They didn't like that. The men didn't like feeling what they inflicted, so a war ensued, one where the very battleground was in favour of the mermaids.
Neither side wanted to lose, because they each fought for vengeance and love; a powerful, yet indescribable force. May the most passionate one win.

Historical romance about a human girl and a merman. [Preview] A long arm snaked around her waist, pulling her through the current. Adrenaline hit her like a crushing force, and she saw whisps of white silk clouding around her vision. She began to struggle vehemently, still holding onto her sketchpad as tightly as possible. She raised the book above her head and beat it against the iron body, dragging her deeper. She felt her sketchpad suddenly get snatched out of her hand. The flash of white crossed in front of her and two eyes, dark as death, watched her so closely that she could see nothing else. Her chest throbbed with the desperate need to breathe, and she began to struggle again, thrashing her limbs as much as she possibly could to unleash herself from the creature's locked hold. Powerless, exhausted, and drowning, Victoria's eyes fought to remain open as she ceased fighting her fate and grew still. The pain in her chest seemed to pulsate throughout her entire body, and she felt the darkness coming on, but she ignored it as she remained listelessly suspended in the deep abyss. The black eyes remained fixated on her face as if she were the only thing that existed. Her eyes fluttered closed, but not before she saw the obsidion depths of the creature's eyes swirl and turn to a dark shade of sapphire blue. Time didn't matter to her. She got up when the sun did and tried to sleep when the sun went down. because of this seemingly endlessness, she's forgotten her name, she's forgotten her family and she's forgotten everything she use to be. Now she was nothing. Living on the streets of a town begging for money and food from travellers that didn't know who she was, unlike the rest of the town that thought of her as something unnatural even though she doesn't know why. Constantly abused by the townspeople who don't understand her, she is left to die in an alleyway after a horrible run in with three drunk men. She was expecting to die and have her corpse eaten by rats and other vermin. What she didn't expect was to be saved by a woman that was everything but human. "Do you want to live?" This woman asked and when she looked into herself she knew the answer, it came easy through her busted lips. "Yes." From that day on she became something else, something not human, something extraordinary and from that day forth she will serve this woman who saved her life and maybe one day remember her name or be given one by her new Mistress. Maybe one day she'll remember who she was and maybe she'll even find the one person that completes her soul. From that day forth she became a Nightwalker. Completed. This is a lesbian story and contains mature actions between females. There will be warnings at the beginning of the chapter if you do not wish to read such content.

Daphne longed for something more than what the ocean held for her. She is tainted by the race that she was born to lead if anything happened to her brothers that made them incapable of leading their kingdom. There was nothing down there for her that would give her any happiness. She needed something that could pull away from the feelings of hate that she feels for herself. The depression that seeps into her bones every time she is hit, either with words or an object. Daphne needed something that would save her from the world that she is withering in. Maybe she could find what she is looking for in the world up above. The one where she and anyone in her kingdom are forbidden from adventuring to. It was a world that was just only out of her reach. She only had to find a way to get there. Then maybe she could find her happily ever after.
