Y/n Cordelia Granger lived a happy but simple life in the suburbs of London with her parents and younger sister, Hermione, until her 11th birthday. As the day's sun beamed overhead, the young girl was covered in its light that glimmered with the promise of new opportunities. The golden rays on her face and pinching tightness in her stomach pulled her back to her home and inside her back door. On the other side, an older woman with a wrinkled face and kind eyes stood awaiting her approach. Each crease told a story Y/n longed to discover, but couldn't understand the language of until the older woman handed her a letter. The pages were yellow with age and curled up at the end as a result of fuss from the long journey the paper had made just to reach her. However as Y/n's eyes devoured the words carefully scrawled in black ink, she realized what she held in her hands was far more than a letter. It was an entirely new world to her, and it awaited her arrival. George Fabian Weasley, on the other hand, had always known he was a wizard just as he'd always known the sky was blue. Growing up at the Burrow, magic was as common a sight as loud conversation with raucous laughter and delicious homemade meals accompanied by his mum's lovingly chiding voice. He'd gone to King's Crossing come each September 1st since he and his twin brother Fred were just wains in their mum's arms. While red hair sprouted atop their scalps and their smiles hastily turned from mere innocence to mischief, three of their older brothers started their magical education. For these reasons, it came as no surprise to either of the twins when they received a letter on their 11th birthday admitting them to Hogwarts. But what neither Y/n nor George knew was that on the other side of the Great Hall's grand double doors lay the rest of their lives: intertwined together by the red string of fate and defined by harrowing tragedies that would haunt them and a devout love that would keep them ablaze.
