"I wasn't there for her," I whispered, still staring at the door. "She attempted suicide, and I didn't even know what was going on. I could've been there for her. I could've stopped her from doing this."

Have you ever wanted to hear someone's voice one last time, so much that it drove you to the brink insanity? Have you ever had millions of questions desperately looking for an answer, but there's nowhere to go? Have you ever doubted every single decision you've made in your life, helpless to do anything about it? This is how Chase Lancaster feels as he stares at his sister's seemingly lifeless body. Well, not exactly "lifeless." Tubes and machines surround his twin, Hailey, making her unrecognizable. Chase can't shake off the feeling that he is the reason his sister is lying on the hospital bed, ventilator making it the only way she can breathe.

On the table next to the helpless Hailey Lancaster, traces were to be seen of the empty pill bottles she had held days before as she shoved the pills down her throat, desperate for an escape.
