Christian Hughes was the MVP of the most elite basketball team in Florida. His team climbed the state bracket with ease and was one game away from winning the state championship when he critically injured his knee in a freak accident. Scarcely mobile, and deeply confused about himself, his parents shipped him off to his Grandmother in Tampa for undisclosed reasons. Refusing to give up on his dreams; Christian became the manager of his new school's basketball team, the Parkside Panthers (who never made it past regionals).
While coping with his injuries, trying to improve the team, and dealing with his sickly Grandmother, Christian develops feelings for a team member, Seth Stanton; who is positive he doesn't feel the same.
