At age 16 and almost completely through the hell of adolescence, Ashley's life had never been perfect. However, she kept her head up, because even though she was ugly, flat chested, and unable to hold a bearable conversation, she knew she was in a better situation than most. After all, despite the cold chill most of the year, there was almost nothing wrong with living in Northern California, or America for that matter. Some countries out there were straight up war torn. Even better, tomorrow her braces were coming off, and she could finally be free. Maybe she could get her acne under control without spending a century to floss every night. In fact, that boy she liked finally messaged her back earlier today. Things were looking up for Ashley, and nothing could ever go wrong-

There will be synthetic heat, light, and seasons. The cost to enter such an oasis is very expensive. It is hundreds of thousands of dollars per ticket. However, there is another way to get in. Once the sun dies many will die with it. It might even vaporize part of the planet in its blast. No one knows for sure. But the world will need a larger population. You can earn your place in the dome if you agree to have a child to save the human race. This obviously only applies to women. Now remember Cadence? He is biologically female. He has been on testosterone for two years and is trying to transition in this world. Unfortunately that is horribly expensive where he lives. His family however is more focused on saving their lives from the dying sun. His parents had just enough money to afford his sister a ticket. She could not have children because she was barren. Cadence however could have children if he wished, but he didn't. Having a child meant undoing all of his hard work. He is told that in order to survive that he must have a child within the next two years. Two years is a long time, but he never wanted to have children.
