This is a story about a young boy who feels that he is insignificant in this large world. Upon his mother's death and his sibling's poor treatment of him, he decides it is time to venture out into the large world and find his own lot in life. Before leaving Cedar, his home village, he has to tell Iris he is going away. This one visit sends him on a journey through Baylorn where he meets new people, learns a lot about trust, and discovers what will be the beginning of one individual changing the look of an entire nation.
