My name's Steven. I'm a 16 year old boy who comes from a very eccentric little town. People are very superstitious down there. One particular myth takes the cake, though. It seems that people believe that aliens visited this cute little town some years ago. They where supposed to look like humans and everything. In fact, this is the 150th anniversary of when they supposedly left here. Funny thing is they where supposed to come back exactly 150 years from the day they left. Anyway, enough of that crap. We have more important things to discuss, like the new family that just moved in. 14 people in all. I know, right! Apparently the mom and dad took in like eleven kids, minus her own son, Raymond. They where given up, or sent away by their parents. Well, seven of them are in my homeroom, and there's one more in my grade somewhere, too. The others are scattered around the elementary school. It's kinda funny that they got here on the same day that the aliens where supposed to. Pfft, aliens. There aren't any aliens coming. Right?

Every year another person got powers, and so, the search continued. But there was always one question on mr. Knight mind: Why 12 children the first time, and only one per year after that? And one thing was for sure: whenever someone gained powers, they had to give something up in return. It was never a choice. It was just the way it was. So, now that I've explained a bit about how this all started, let's fast forward to the present. It's now 2033. Mr. Knight has found 19 children, and Mr. Douglas, the leader of the other group, has found 10. That means... the 30th child is out there somewhere. Who will it be?
