Anastasia's uncle was murdered by the April fools killer, who comes out every April 1st, ending the lives of three people every year. On her 16th birthday, she sees a picture of the killer and then a moving shadow. On her 17th she finds him, lying dead right where her uncle had died. She feels as if she is safe, but the death wasn't real. It was an April fools trick. And now he's out to get her.
