The story ' To Be Caged' written by Zubia Imam is about a 17 year old girl Anna, who was placed for adoption at the age 0f 7. She was forced into the culture of rich and wealthy after being adopted into family of Maxwells'. There she was expected to give up her past, her identity and her dreams even her own birth name. Throughout these years she is being trained personally to become more 'lady like' and with every mistake comes a punishment. She experiences sexual and physical harassment by her 'foster' parents, yet she still won't give up herself to such pathetic culture. Her dreams and desires are the only things giving her hope for what is yet to come. Will Anna regain what she has lost? Can she escape such a world to return home? Will Anna ever fly away towards her freedom?
