Manhattan Preparatory

The Manhattan Preparatory School sits in the heart of Manhattan, NYC. Every day is an overcast day because if the clouds don't block the sun from the school's courtyard, the buildings will. Students wear freshly pressed navy blue blazers and shiny black dress shoes. On their way to class in the fall, they crinkle dried orange foliage underfoot. They carry heavy textbooks and wear cross-body bags instead of backpacks.

Jackson Mertz is on the cusp of adulthood, navigating his final year of high school. His carefree, almost reckless nature takes him on a ride through revolutions in his sexual, romantic, academic, and spiritual lives. His group of friends lead just as interesting lives, but ultimately are the glue keeping all the bits of him together.
