"Oh look here, fresh meat." His deep, mesmerizing voice whispers with a smirk. He smells strongly of a man, and one of his arms is right by my head. My heart picks up as I look up at him. My hands grow clammy and my mouth dries. His other hand strokes my cheek, mockingly. "You should be fun. Claimed." The last word he says loud, with authority, as if everyone could understand the meaning behind it.

Janet Patterson is a relatively nice young girl. She's smart, quiet, not that awful looking. Then she gets an invitation to CHS, a very proud private school. She hated the idea of being surrounded by idiots, and now she wishes she could be back with them. For now, she is surrounded by mostly naughty students. And Catcher Philips, the school wide known bad boy, has his eyes on her.

"Stop that." I jumped slightly as my eyes shot over to the familiar hulking form standing in the doorway of my bathroom. I always forget how tall Derek is until I'm standing right next to him. Or in this case in front of him. "Stop what?" my brows furrowed as I watched his reflection fully enter the room until he stood right behind me. His large hands rested on either side of me on the counter, trapping me between his arms. "Don't ruin my mood with your cockiness." "I think I made it a lot better." "Well, keep going and you'll have to deal with your boner yourself." I teased. "Why does it always come back to my boner?" He asked with a smile playing on his lips. "Because it's just so huge." I said absentmindedly. "Is it now?" He raised a brow at me. I stripped myself away from him and pouted as I folded my arms across my chest. "That's not what I was supposed to say." "Hmm," He nodded. "What were you supposed to say then?" "That it's just as annoying as you." I laughed. SUMMARY: After the death of her father, Blake moves in with her estranged mother and twin sister. Coping with her father's death was one thing and being involved in dirty work is another. Add a bad boy to fall for on her plate and things can't be more messed up. She tries to start a new life but ghosts from her past just aren't ready to leave her. Question is, can she make it through and have a happy ending or not? His devil-may-care attitude swirls around him and no one wants to get on his bad side. Of course River is afraid of him, and she has a good right to be.
