The Boiler Room - Short Horror Story

SAMPLE --- "It's not! I promise! Seriously he has a knife or something!" I started to believe her, until I heard someone laugh hysterically in the background. "This is lead investigator Ramos of the Rosewood Police Department, not the 911 hotline you know that?" That usually scares these prank callers to hang up, when they hear they called the lead investigator. "I didn't dial", she told me, sounding just as confused as I was. She screamed, and the line closed. The odd thing? I think I heard the scream from down the hall.
This is a short story focused around John Ramos, the Lead Investigator for the Rosewood Police Department. After some unfortunate events, John must descend into the basement of his apartment building, a place which is said to be haunted by the other tenants. What could happen in the mysterious cellar? And what happens when he picks up his phone?
