Welcome to Asteria
Now then. You're probably wondering what this place is? To answer that, we must go to the past. 4.5 billion years in the future from our current time, Earth's sun began to expand from burning up all its fuel. Humanity, having managed to get their act together and advance space travel, avoided their extinction and evacuated the planet, feeling their solar system out unto the stars. Many years passed by in stasis and in future generations. Eventually, humanity found themselves a new home. But alas, nothing worth having is easy to keep. Extradimensional entities known as Developers, named as such due to them being the closest biological thing you could get to a genuine god, appeared in humanity's new home. With their metaphysical, reality warping abilities, they changed the world over. Combining the new planet with 3 others in such a manner that multiple dimensions and timeliness were rolled into one like a bunch of star bursts that were pressed and twisted together before being shaped into a ball. Thus, it resulted in the reality bending world named Asteria! Strap in ladies and gentlemen, this is gonna get crazy. (Author's note: There are many references to other, more familiar games, movies, books, and others. This includes character names and back stories, weapons, character abilities, and even in universe power system mechanics that resemble or are inspired by other media. Every single one of these references, allusions, and inspired aspects reserve any and all rights to the original owners. The only things that I own here are the general lore of the world.) (I will also say this is a narrative story adapted from a TTRPG campaign that I am currently running with a system I made. Players may come and go as they please, which will result in characters disappearing from the rest of the story. On the disaster of a planet, creatures mutated and were born out of the nuclear chemicals; creating new species and monsters that hunted humans. While hundreds and hundreds of years passed, the monsters kept evolving and the people kept adapting while still trying to keep a sort of community. They didn't want to lose all of their humanity and become nothing more than animals that hunted the monsters: then they would truly be no better than the monsters themselves.
