The forest is divided. The River Crux cuts through it. On the North bank are the dark-winged Adrans. On the South bank are the light-winged Vanyans. Aiyana is a Vanyan-born girl waiting impatiently to get her wings so she can better defend against the Adrans. But when she sprouts dark wings, she's thrust into an unfamiliar and hostile world. Will she give up her beliefs just to survive, or will she stand firm? As the two sides grow closer to war, that question could not be more important, and more than just her life is at stake.
