Life gets twisty sometimes. After a day fraught with betrayals resulting in the loss of her job, her home, and her boyfriend, Twenty-seven year old Rika Birmingham, British-American by genetics – Japanese by birth, is about to lose the one thing that truly matters in her life. Or is she? Lucky has been her best friend and constant companion for twenty years, and the only family she's known for the past eighteen. Now, she just needs to get him to the hospital in time save his life. But when their trip is unavoidably delayed and Lucky dies en-route, he has no intention of leaving her - especially not now. Then again, maybe he won't have to. When a series of synchronistic events inadvertently lands his soul in the body of a would-be bridge jumper, world renowned Japanese-Korean artist, Jin Yoshikawa, it appears Lucky may just have a second chance to remain by the side of the woman he loves. Jin however, had decided not to jump and wants his body back, but Lucky has no intention of leaving and it seems the two are now karmicly bound to share his body - at least for the time being. And when a spur of the moment decision on Lucky's part employs Rika as the artist's live-in assistant while he recovers and prepares for an upcoming show, Jin winds up with a housemate he doesn't want, intervention he doesn't desire, and feelings for her his ingrained racism won't readily let him admit. Not to mention the likely normal complications you might expect in your life when having to share your body with the soul of a deceased cat in love with his mistress.
