Meanwhile, Grace has lived a simple life in Appleborne, living in the shadow of her older sisters. Blake is an outcast in his hometown of Larkinge, living alone because of his demonic appearance.

People were both revered them and schemed against them. This led to the Witch Trials causing many of them to die and killing innocent women. Now, they go into hiding, keeping their presence hidden. The Witch Council made several rules after the fateful incident. Now, witch covens are smaller which make it easier for them to hide. They don't come out in the open nor do they get involved with the affairs of the supernatural world. In the present day, witches are just like humans, except with powers.
