Eligible, straight bachelors are an endangered species in Vancouver, BC, so when Anne Coyle snags herself a bona fide husband, it is reason to celebrate.

Anne's Matron of Honour, Gwen Bradley, has it all - a movie star husband, fame, and fortune, but she is as miserable and as drunk as the tabloids suggest.

Sophie Levesque, whose biological clock is at odds with her grocery list of qualifications in a suitor, catches Anne's bridal bouquet hoping to solidify her fledgling relationship with a workaholic ER doctor.

Mila Mihir dreams of homeownership the same way Sophie dreams of motherhood. When her mother-in-law offers to make her dream a reality, she is ecstatic, until she discovers her mother-in-law's asking price.

When drug addiction gets Tina Randall fired from her job she succumbs to working the ugly streets of East Vancouver to pya her bills and her drug debt to her dealer boyfriend.

The five friends gather monthly to indulge in a cocktail ritual where they drink mimosas and dissect and debate such worldly issues as who is dating who, who is divorcing who, affairs, scandals, and babies.

Their decade long friendship is tested as each woman struggles to find true love and self-fulfillment in her mid-thirties.

Chasing Sunsets (BINI Series #4), écrit par 3erato
40 chapitres Terminé
In a quaint coastal City where the sky meets the sea in a breathtaking blaze of colors every evening, two souls find themselves deeply intertwined in a love that knows no bounds. Sheena and Gwen - enemies turned lovers, have spent years chasing sunsets together, their hearts entwined with every radiant hue that paints the horizon. Their love is a beacon of warmth and understanding, grounded in shared dreams and aspirations. Yet, as the sun dips below the horizon each day, casting golden reflections upon the ocean's surface, a shadow looms over their happiness. Gwen became distant and Sheena had a hard time processing everything that she had discovered. As they stand hand in hand on the beach, watching the sun sink into the horizon, they grapple with the weight of their decision. With each passing sunset, their love deepens, but so does the uncertainty of their future. In a race against time, they embark on a journey of self-discovery and soul-searching, seeking solace in the fleeting moments of twilight and the promise of new beginnings that each sunrise brings. Together, they confront the harsh realities of life, learning that true love isn't just about holding on-it's also about having the courage to let go. "Chasing Sunsets" is a poignant tale of love, sacrifice, and the beauty of embracing the unknown, where every sunset serves as a reminder that even in the face of uncertainty, love has the power to illuminate the darkest of skies.

[NOTE: This book was written in 2010, a time of long-distance phone cards, weight-loss obsessions, and searching for a man as a solution to life's problems-what a messy time to be alive! In other words, I hope you enjoy this throwback, and while this book does end on a cliffhanger of sorts, the sequel addresses any unanswered questions (which is hopefully fair, given that book 1 is free, ya know?] An awkward family homecoming at Christmas. A humiliating public weigh-in, with two judging parents as the audience. The announcement of a deadline for arranged marriage doom. And that's just the first two chapters. In "Year of the Chick," Romi Narindra must find love before her parents find her a husband. Easy to say, less easy to live through, as this book takes you deep inside "awkward Indian living in the West." To escape her fate, Romi wades through the waters of secret-dating, where self-consciousness is at an all-time high, and experience at an all-time low. It's the sort of thing that would turn almost anyone into a man-crazy freak with romance tunnel-vision, and that's exactly what ends up happening. All the while, a lack of inspiration in her corporate job leads Romi to her love of writing, in what quickly becomes a man-quest play-by-play. From whiskey-breath scum bags to uni-brow creeps and everything in between, Romi and her wingmen come up empty time after time. And that's when she meets a fellow writer. On the Internet. So will it be arranged marriage doom, or an Internet affair that's not as creepy as "To Catch a Predator"? Time will tell in the "year of the chick," a twelve-month quest to find love. Tick-tock. --------------------------------------------- "Year of the Chick" is book one of a series, and book two is available at Amazon! LENGTH: 75,000 words or 285 pages DISCLAIMER: this book contains profanities, blunt accounts of the dating scene, and many awkward family moments. Enjoy!
