The Song of Deirdre Part I
Deirdre Morningsong returns to Skyrim seeking vengeance on the Nords who murdered her parents, only to be captured by Imperial soldiers who mistake her for a Stormcloak rebel. After escaping both the Imperial dungeons and the destructive return of the dragon Alduin, she resolves to discover what strange power is within her, and what the dragons have to do with it. Follows the main quest lines of the game, weaving them into a story of adventure and romance, with numerous twists on the canon. I'm hoping it's equally enjoyable for those who've played the game and those who haven't. Trigger warnings: rape is mentioned, one is attempted and prevented, but none are completed. Some other sexual assault. The first chapters are PG-13, but later ones become R-rated. (Feedback on appropriate ratings appreciated.) Skyrim is part of the Elder Scrolls series of games, copyright by Bethesda Softworks. The image for the book cover is from the game. I've worked in nonfiction up to now because it's easier for me to describe places and events I can experience first-hand. It follows a lot of the story and script, but with variation and expansion. There's a lot of romance, a love triangle, and spicy smut. Much of the story is based off of my most recent playthrough- I had never met Serana before and I truly loved Aela the Huntress as my companion, but once I met Serana, I threw Aela to the wolves, so to speak. I had to write a fanfiction of how I would have loved for the story to go, tying in details from the game. ***Please note, this is an LGBTQIA+ work.
