Evelyn is living her best life. She's got a house in a small part of New Orleans. She's living with her friends. She's got a job where she can use her skills to create small pieces of mechanics. She's happy. But she begins to sense that something is brewing in New Orleans.
Someone has been watching her. She can't tell who, but she can feel them. Watching her every move. Her and her friends - Oliver, Quinn, and Adelaide - all feel it. But creatures Evelyn doesn't recognize are coming for them, and she realizes she can no longer hide that she isn't human, her power. However, her friends aren't exactly human either.
With friendships skating on the edge of more and secrets being revealed, Evelyn takes it upon herself to ensure that she and her friends are prepared for whatever is coming for them. But there's only one family that can possibly help them, and Evelyn will be damned if she has to go running back to those she swore to forget about.
