"Are you just going to pretend that didn't happen?!"
Yoongi turned around, surprise etched on his face. He didn't expect her to yell at him. She never yelled.
Just as his eyes hardened and he was about to yell back at her, his heart skipped a beat.
The quiet loner that never said a word in school. The one that freshmen were terrified of because of her intimidating persona. The one that never showed anything except blatant boredom. She was sobbing.
"...of course not. I still lay awake at night because of it, Y/n," Yoongi mumbled, not really knowing what else to say or do.
"HOW DO YOU THINK I FEEL?!" She screamed at him, all the bottled up anger, sadness, fear, anxiety, hatred, and guilt all coming out at once. "MY SISTER DIED! NOT YOUR'S! AND YOU ALL LEFT ME! BECAUSE OF WHAT, GUILT?! I feel guilty... I couldn't protect her... my mom hates me... my dad left... my brother hasn't even said one complete sentence to me in the past ten years... my therapist is trying to convince me that Happy was nothing but a dream to deal with guilt... and none of you were there for me while I was falling apart."
Yoongi stayed silent, tears running down his face for the first time in... well, who knows? He stopped counting a long time ago. "...I'm so sorry," he said finally, mentally debating whether he should hug her or not. "I... I thought you hated us."
"Of course not," She replied, her voice barely above a whisper. "I could never hate you."

"You're different from what I expected," she said softly.
"How so?" he asked, glancing at her.
"I don't know," she replied, searching for the right words. "You just... have this way of making people feel like they matter. Even here, in this... nightmare."
He was quiet for a moment before responding. "You matter, Y/n. Don't forget that."
