This is the world of Double Helix.

What happens when men decide to take the process into their own hands? When governments and corporations attempt to control and create mutations of their choosing? What happens when a person's genomic structure in manipulated without their knowledge or consent?
When experimental gene therapies cause unexpected results, the research firm responsible has to make difficult choices. Choosing profit over ethics, they find themselves tangled up with covert government agencies that want complete and total control over the mutations - and the individuals who have them.

That's one side of the war.

The other side?
A small group of mutants, led by the former head researcher for the research firm involved. Their goals - stay out of the firm's - and the government's - hands, and live as normal lives as they can until society is ready to accept them. Protect other mutants and the people who help them.

Despite all efforts, the war spills over to affect, and be affected, by other groups. Shadowy organizations only conspiracy theorists believe in. Average individuals who get caught in the crossfire and find all they thought they knew about the world turned inside out.

And then there are the natural mutants, who have managed to stay under the radar. Until the secret war erupts. Now they are targets too.
