"26 damned years. I've known him for that long and all he ever gave me was pain. I want to forget him, I really do. You have to understand, it just doesn't help when It's Him Next Door."
High school calls for drama, boys, and best friends, right? For Aally Hyde, wrong. Well, partially. She took fifth period drama and had great friends. So far, she loved the fact that no boy was in her way.
College calls for stress, courtrooms, prosecutions, sex, and final exams. Alone at the age of 22, Aally couldn't help but despise relationships after what he did to her, bringing her back to where she was in high school.
Being a lawyer gave her everything she ever dreamed of. She had the fame, the wealth, the apartment, and a job at the city's best firm. She even won back the man of her dreams. At the age of 26, she was sure her life was set and was going the way she wanted it to go.
But was it going to be that easy? Was life really that simple? Or was something terrible waiting for her, maybe, right next door?
"26 beautiful years. I've known her for that long and she's given me moments I'll cherish for the rest of my life. I love her, I really do. You have to understand, I can't give up now. Especially when I'm right next door."

Who knew four years of college life would become everything she should have never sought for, but also, something she always wanted to, with all her heart.
Jake is stubborn, arrogant, and a lot more mysterious about himself than Amy can handle. He is also passionate, an artist with a paintbrush that can create masterpieces and depressed in ways no one bothers to know, except Amy. Amy is undeniably attracted to him. But Jake harbors enough regrets from the past to never seek the light Amy has to offer. Amy slowly manages to break through the walls of redemption Jake has created around himself. But she can never change the fact that our mistakes run deep than any other feeling.
