Bethany Chase is different. And a key component to the Shadow War going on. She just doesn't know it yet.
When Tristan, Bethany's best friend, mysteriously disappears and is claimed to be dead, things start happening that she can't explain. Why do strange notes keep showing up? How come they seem to know all about her? All the things that she thought Tristan only knew.
So when Bethany crosses paths with a strange guy who seems to know more about her past, and future, than she does, she can't help but give in to his charm and listen to him. Even though what he tells her is crazy, she has a feeling she can trust him.

Warning: this book's focus is drawn to a character who hints themes of depression and self-harm. The idea of the story is to present the experience of learning to understand and comfort someone through these struggles. So while these themes are contained within a comical styled story, they are still present so please be mindful of that before you read on. You. You're just a normal girl. Mistaken
The smooth life of a 19-year-old boy's life was going just fine until it goes into a different direction as a strange girl that is the same age as him, enters the young boy's life. This strange girl claims that he has been seen committing several crimes by a lot of eyewitnesses, but this person claims to know it was an imposter. An exact look-a-like, and offers a way out of what will undoubtedly be a very tricky situation. Sure of the truth in this situation, but somewhat distrustful of this strange girl, and the young boy hastily agrees to the proposal, it all feels very exciting, as if a big adventure was about to begin. But what if this strange girl is pulling a prank. Or what if this proposal is wrong or missing important details. How could an ordinary young guy like him end up in a situation like this? Time to find out for the better or for the worse himself. If this boy doesn't find out why he could end up in prison for years for something he doesn't ever even remember doing.
