WARNING: This story contains detailed descriptions of events and wounds obtained on a World War One battlefield. If you are sensitive to gore, violence, and death (and all that entails), please DON'T read this story. Henry O'Connell joined the fight against the Germans as soon as the Great War began, although he quickly found that the trenches could not give him the glory and excitement he and his brother Albert had desired. Henry suffers severe wounds on the battlefield, including exposure to mustard gas, getting caught in a blast, and being thrown into a mess of barbed wire. Later, he wakes up in a makeshift hospital, being treated by an American nurse-in-training named Samantha Wilks. This story is co-written by @from.dusk.til.dawn on Instagram. I'll try to update this at least once a month, if not more often!

The year is 1917, and the Great War is slowly drawing to a close, but the end can't come fast enough for the two nations from the Southern Hemisphere, exhausted and ready to go home and to try to resume a normal life. Kyle knows he's close to breaking. Even hearing the name of that cursed place aloud causes him pain, and he knows Avery feels the same. Then comes that stupid smiling American, with his talk of heroes and aide. And Kyle can't help but start to feel differently about Alfred. But developing such feelings in the middle of war can be a dangerous thing.
