After making a dangerous catch in the waters of Slateport City's Water Safari Zone, high school sophomore Darwin Blakesley stands at the threshold of a brand new world, caught between two different parties: one, a boy who would like nothing more than to see him drown; another, an organization determined to keep him silent about what he knows.

As Darwin fights his way through midterms, club activities, and the terrifying and traumatic roller-coaster ride of making new friends, something else approaches from afar: a storm and a tsunami, both of which are determined to put the Hoenn Region underwater.

Looped into a hunt for merfolk, world of magic and history of wars and spells, Icarus must get through her final year of school while keeping her new tail a secret. Along the way two new faces appear, Pandora Edge and Zagreus Flyy, who aren't as different as they may seem.
