MidFlight is one of the two hatchlings of a retired warchief and blacksmith from a continent like island across the sea, Obutrae. However, after very few years of her life, MidFlight's parents are called back to a bloody conflict for a prophesized power by the kingdom of MountainThorn.

Without their parents and with vanquishedflame taking toll, the two youngbloods are in a hopeless competition for prey with the other inhabitants on their island, Lauranu.
With nothing to hope for at her home, MidFlight makes her way across sea to Obutrae to find her parents. Right into the center of an unforgiving war for The Underneath.
