Sophomore year for Meredith Alabauser was supposed to be the one to never forget, but now that is all she wants to do. After the death of her older sister, Meredith is now left on her own in a world she has never felt she belonged to. They have never been close, but more than ever she wishes Nadine was there.
As Meredith feels her life is over, she travels through a year of firsts and comes to see part of Nadine she never really knew. She comes to realize why Nadine was the way she was, and why Nadine was not as careless as she had always thought. Thumbing through childhood memories, Meredith learns of a terrifying secret and must decide if she should let it stay in the grave with Nadine, or bring it to light to get justice for the girl who no longer had a voice.
Read pages of memories of a little girl who grew up way too fast in order to let her little sister grow up with normality. Hear the confusion of the other as she tries to find her own identity, yet be the person her sister wanted her to be.
