Edith Lancaster is in a pickle. For the past ten months her mother has entertained her with the notion of getting married. Smart, affluential, and wealthy, Mommy Lancaster wants nothing but the best for her daughter. And that includes the best fish from the sea. Little does she know that Eddie, as everyone calls her, just wants to enjoy life and has no wish to settle down yet. Not to mention Eddie already has a boyfriend. Too bad Mama gets what Mama wants. Just when Eddie thinks she has her mother is off her back the woman announces her so called "great" news... Edith Lancaster is getting married!
The half smile half sneer grew on my mother's face like a disgusting kind of mold. A falling feeling in my stomach made itself known. Something bad was about to happen. Uh-oh. She opened her mouth and spoke, "My daughter, Edith," I flinched at the sound of my name, and cowered slightly when a spotlight appeared on me as well, "Well... She's getting married!"
