When his father's job causes them to move to a new town, Jungkook couldn't care less. It's the cause of his quietness, his depression, his actions. Jungkook, being the caring person he naturally, is, wants to help Taehyung. He understands the feeling of being alone, so he wants to be Taehyng's friend, despite what his 5 other friends have to say about Taehyung.
