"Where do you want to live?" He asked me. I smiled. He already knew the answer. It was all I talked about. It was our dream house.

"A big farmhouse. Big enough for us and our five children. Parker, Cole, Emma, Amber, and" I stopped suddenly. I had forgotten the name of our fourth child. I took a breath and continued on.

"It would have chickens and pigs. Horses and cows. Trees to climb. A lake to swim in. Playgrounds to play on. We would sit on the Deck, clutching our drinks, and watch our children run into the riding field. To Play. The kitchen would have beautiful glass cupboards. The dining room with nice wooden table and soft comfy chairs. The family room would have a fireplace that would be lit every night. We would have one TV in our bedroom and one small one in the kitchen. A single laptop in the family room. Phones all around the house. Or bedroom full of gorgeous things. Our children's room full of the things they desire." I described it as though we were really there.

His sister Kelis finds someone in need of a roommate so he moves in with the girl and gives her his middle name, Lucas. He quickly becomes addicted to the girl and once he gets one taste he's done for. He warns her about his past, about his name, but she ignores all the red flags, not realizing exactly how intertwined she is with the people from his past. He becomes enamored with her, feels like she was made for him while still battling the demons of his past and soon it all becomes too much for him to handle. He makes a heartbreaking decision, thinking it's what's best for both of them and everything changes.
