I used to believe in love, but now it feels like a risk I can't take. After the betrayal, trust has become a foreign concept to me. Even when someone close to me offers kindness and support, I can't bring myself to believe it's genuine. I want to open up, to let someone in, but the fear of getting hurt again keeps me guarded. It's easier to stay distant, to protect myself from what I know could break me. But then I wonder-can love truly heal the wounds of the past, or does it just reopen them?
