Before the villain known as Mockingbird terrorized the modern world, Tomas Althaus lived in constant fear of having to talk with strangers.

During the late 1980s, Tomas is just like any other college student albeit his introverted self tends to skip out on parties most of the time.

Regardless, his life takes a drastic turn when a girl from Scotland and a man from Germany both arrive unannounced into his life-each wanting something different from him all the while hiding their true natures.

While letting himself be caught up in a romance with the Scottish lady, Tomas is inadvertently introduced to a world of intrigue and lies when he begins to work under the man who now calls himself 'Uncle'; a place where even his younger brother, Alexander, can't be trusted to dabble in.

Every criminal mastermind starts out somewhere, alas for Tomas, his turn to the dark side wasn't really his fault.

At least not completely.
