Dans une société devenue dystopique et où depuis quelques années, des êtres venus d'ailleurs ont envahis la Terre, Jack neuf ans, prisonnier, tente seul de survivre au milieu d'un monde sombre et hostile. Lors de leur invasion ces êtres mystérieux, tuèrent, kidnappèrent et firent prisonniers des milliers de personnes, amassées d'en d'immenses entrepôts où s'ensuivent des expériences douteuses sur ces corps humains.
Jack, un des quelques humains encore conscients tentera d'échapper à l'expérience imminente qu'il va devoir subir ainsi qu'à ce monde cauchemardesque.
