Near is a smart, cool and always calm kid and wants to be a detective someday together with light and mello his cousin.
light is good at hacking at the age of 16 and witty while his brother mello 15 yrs old with a great mind and a boy who alwayd laugh at light's joke, he's good at doing a bugs, transmitter and other tools that can be useful. this 3 bright children's parents got suicide though they know its murder. a man will adopt these three kids into BCO, an orphanage that trains young individuals to be a good detectives. near, mello, light try to study at their orphanage and try to capture the killer of their family which they believe that its a big organization...that organization known MAFIA
