The six, Mila, Holcum, Kyrill, Nacy, Jace, and Danal report to their new ship.  It is the first of the new FTL vessels Earth is designing.  They are both plank owners and initial crew.  Their jobs are to get the ship ready for her maiden cruise and to ensure she returns to Earth.

What are they going to experience and how will it affect them as individuals, mates, and their world?  Only time will tell.

For a little piece of home resides in the shadows. A dark one that, although Socks has never formally encountered, knows all about and had been influenced by greatly. If it weren't for him, he may not even have been on Earth. And that little piece of home...
