Athena has no one. 

Orphaned at the tender age of twelve, she doesn't want anything to do with the Color War; a decades long war being waged between the vicious King of the new world and the magic users of the past. In a realm where a person's eye color directly relates to the magic they can control, Athena's green eyes mark her as the most powerful mage to have been born in centuries - and everyone wants a piece.

Jax has everyone. 

Prince of the new world, he has no understanding of the war that rages outside the kingdom walls. After the violent death of his childhood tutor, Jax begins to realize the world around him is slowly spinning into all out chaos - and that he doesn't want to be King if his only legacy is cruelty.
