Meet Iris ,she is a 16 year old. Her mother is a hard working middle school teacher. Her father left them when she was five. Her grades are not bad but not good either. No friends because she pushes them away. She has no feelings and has drowned herself in severe depression. 
For Iris, Rainbows and sunshine in life are temporary and rare. There is a continuous thunderstorm going on and on in her life. She smokes. Smoking is bad but the reason she smokes is worse.

Now meet Eli, he is also a sixteen year old. His father is filthy rich. They are threatened of robbery and Eli is not safe in California with them. So he moves in alone in a small house in Colorado where he plans to complete his education and probably make a few friends. He is neighbors with another girl from school. He looks at her everynight sitting on the roof of her house staring at the night sky and signing in a haunting yet enchanting voice, at her window smoking and she is usually never home. Every night, her voice traps him and takes him to another wonderland. He wants to unravel her mystery. And he will do it.
