Picture This

There's a storm brewing. Right here, every minute of every day, right beneath our feet. There's torrential rains and howling winds, enough thunder to make you shiver- all hidden from sight right below the ground. It waits there, growing darker with each passing moment, waiting for the right time to strike and release a flood.

You think things are okay- life is going well and nothing is out of place. You've always been like this. Normal, right? Normal. A normal kid, with normal grades, normal hobbies and a normal life. Yeah, there's a few things that aren't all there. Perhaps your family isn't textbook definition perfect, but it's normal, for you. Suddenly, things shift, and the world falls off it's axis, keeps falling even. Now you're holding hands and kissing a boy- a boy who never smiled at you like that before, when his tongue was simple a weapon to cut into you. You're not studying as much as you should be, you're never home, and when you are, it's never alone. There's a whole new normal to your life now- the kind that makes your heart pound and your head dizzy like a ride that's going way too fast. But it's that feeling that makes you stay, makes you adapt to it all. Love struck, they called it. Everything was beautiful and normal and right.

Then, it stops falling, and the world cracks open.
