Fleur-Familien. 
The Fleur-Familien (or, Flower Children) were a long-forgotten race of people who were part-plant, possessing special abilities to communicate with the vegetation of this world... and much, much more. 
Split up into several factions, there existed a noble house for almost every type of flower. Long ago, it was thought that a crudely competitive arms-race had this species wipe itself, and all its royal family-crests, out. Yet the modern era may just act as another arena for a new rivalry between the secretively remaining tribes of spores, pollinators, and petals.

At least as a slave she has a chance at earning her freedom from a ruling Fae to pardon her. As she masters her skills, she, along with her friends, are given the opportunity to leave and earn her freedom. It's the first step in finding herself and her answers and perhaps it could change her life in ways she couldn't imagine when she was taking everyone's orders in the kitchen.
