That was the only thing she had left of her father. His diary was her only way of connecting with her family again.
She dropped the sword and raised her hands up in defeat, "I lost. Put the book down."
Alexios only shook his head and inched the flames closer to the leather-bound diary. "I'm not stupid, princess. I'll only be content once you turn up dead."
Jinx sighed and sent Eleanor a subtle glance to play along ,"Oh, Lexi... You want her dead, don't you?" He took a slow step closer, sliding his sword back into its scabbard. "How much is that worth to you?"
He scoffed in return. "I want her head. You give me that, and I will never bother you again." His hands never moved, the flames would surely set the book ablaze if he were to even inch it any closer. His knights unsheathed their swords, clearly liking the direction this was heading in.
"Fine. You can have my head." She walked a few steps in his direction. "Hand the book over first."
Alex motioned for his guards to step aside as he set the torch back on the wall. She walked towards him, thinking he would just hand it over. But, instead, he dropped the book, grabbed her wrist, and twisted it behind her back as he placed the sword at the tip of her neck.
He looked over at Jinx. "Move, and her head is mine."
