Not a voice is heard but the sound of the siren echoing all around Israel. Everyone is still remembering those whom we have lost. I'm on the bus which has stopped along with every other thing around. The baby who was crying insanely loud for about 20 minutes has been hushed by the sound of the siren. Astonishment and sadness is in his eyes. He looks at an older lady who I assume is his grandmother and I witness as a tear rolls down her left eye. It is said, if a first tear comes out of the left eye, one is hurt and deeply depressed. I stare at the woman intently, unable to process how long it has been, but the bus had began moving again. I look ahead for the rest of the ride. We stop once more but this time we're in front of Yad Vashem. I get out of the bus noticing the lady again, she seems a bit calmer but I notice the tear stains on her cheek. Holding the baby she walks in, I follow. Looking around I feel pain looking at all the Jews that were killed one name especially standing out. " Rosie Cohen " My great grandmother a tear rolls down my eye and I walk away
