Sarah has always been a little different from the other kids at school, whether it be for sports or achieving an A on a math test. One Fall, a girl named Kate moves into town starting off her junior year at Elk Grove High in Norwich, Minnesota. Kate starts to get rumors around the school of the so called 'Psychotic girl' and pursues her in search for answers, but what she uncovers just maybe too much for her to handle with her simple minded nature along with her challenging disability.

Their mutual dislike of one another leads to a lot of hostility, routinely leading to Jay being sent to his school's principal.
