Fallen Behind

Hybrids have been here for years, centuries, even. And humans intrigued by their exotic looks and features kept them as nothing more than slaves.
Laws were passed to help with abuse and neglect towards hybrids, but the punishment were nothing but a slap on the wrist. Abused hybrids were put down and the owners were given a small fine! How is that fair? Most of all hybrids were sometimes left with their abuser. There's really no hope for hybrids. Hybrids have been slapped in public or even whipped and no one bats an eye. No one stands up for hybrids. Even when it was found that hybrids were being used for the pleasure of humans no one cared. Sure some thought it was disgusting, but that was it no one talked about giving the rights they deserved or needed. No one suggested that the owners be put down.

The criminals instead were given a slap on the wrist to offenses related to the hybrids. They payed $100 for each Hybrid they had. Then the hybrids were put down because no one wanted them due to their circumstance or could take care of them mentally. The disgusting pieces of trash were put in jail for drug related offenses. At least they were in jail, but imagine if they didn't find anything else on these people. Would they still be around? Most likely.

Hybrids were bred and sold. Nothing else.

You, however, absolutely hate this. They're close enough to being human beings and deserve to be treated as such. You never owned one but that didn't change your mind that they deserve to be treated equally. Even saying owned is ridiculous. You always hear of how owners mistreat them. Some so badly they lose their lives. It's heartbreaking to see and hear about, but what can you do you're just one person.
That is until you get yourself involved, now you have to keep him safe.
