Kimberly has been in an abusive relationship for years. She finally has the courage to cut ties with her boyfriend for good. When she ends the relationship, her ex-boyfriend turns violent and almost kills her. She wakes up in the hospital with her family. Traumatized, she has to learn what it's like to have a normal life. She gets feelings for her childhood friend, Dylan. She is confused by these feelings and wonders if he might possibly feel the same way, but at the same time, she questions if she could ever love again.
